Although not technically a painting, as it's pastel on paper, I felt it best to display it in this category rather than as a drawing because it would have seemed out of place alongside black and white drawings.

When I look at this work I immediately think of a family gathered on the roof of a Lower East Side New York tenement in the early 1900's. - SL
